Are cards a way of learning?! Since the beginning of time people have been playing cards both for taking pleasure and getting money. At the same time, professional gamblers believe they learn many inestimable lessons from a game: concentration, a keenness of observation, self-control, and a strategical thought.

It’s known that special intelligence services give lessons of playing bridge, a game that promotes analytical skills development. If you’re not attentive and don’t like frittering away your energy, listen and pay heed to trifles and small things, you won’t achieve much progress in this sphere.

By the way, poker makes all the best to help acquire practical skills and cultivate an analytical thinking. Every player has got his own aim and strategy, understands an opponent’s strategy and opposes them, making a proper decision at no time.

Uppermost, poker is an ability to appraise and find out risks! A businessman (as well as a poker player) is an expert in taking decisions and chances. Thus, poker and business are the same spheres of businesslike activities.

Do you see a difference between professional poker players and gamblers?
Except for estimating the next moves, professional players should have a wise head and never loose temper. In other words, they don’t get excited while playing. So, professionals learned how to find out available risks and think at ease.

On the balance, I’d like to single out main ways that help to find out risks and avoid them:

- concentration
- keenness of observation
- self-control
- strategical thought
- ability to appraise risks
- even-tempered character
- wise head

The most important point, however, is that one has to learn to defeat wherever you are. Poker gives an opportunity to lose at cards in order to snatch a large sum one day. Try not to lose your self-control in any case!
